Opiate Addiction In the News

The topic of opiate addiction is often in the news as many are calling it an epedimic.  More awareness of the issue is always welcome, as long as it is well reasearched reporting from a reliable source.  Below are some current stories reporting on opiate addiction.

"In just over three weeks, fentanyl, a synthetic opioid nearly 50 times more potent than heroin, has caused more than 50 overdoses throughout Northern California.

This article discusses how many employers see prescription medication overuse as a problem, an even greater problem than illicit drug use.  

A news report about an alarming trend where teens and young adults get together to experiment with their parent's prescription medications.
